Four Bournemouth stars have rejoined their teammates at the training ground ahead of the journey to face Manchester City, manager Marco Rose has announced.
Rose informed the Daily Echo following the pre-season match against Mainz that half a dozen players were anticipated to resume training this week ahead of the Etihad Stadium fixture, and although not all six have returned just yet, four have now come back.
Rose mentioned that not six players but several are back in training. Alex Scott, who was serving a suspension, has definitely returned. Álvaro Rodriguez has rejoined full team sessions. Tyler Adams has resumed training with the group. Juanlu has also come back to team training, meaning most are back though some require additional training volume before becoming selection possibilities, but the situation looks positive.
While they may not be capable of starting the match, Rose indicated they must all work towards match fitness. Adams is prepared to feature for 45 to 60 minutes, and Juanlu is also set to see some game time.
Rose explained that finding the appropriate training load and match minutes for them is now their responsibility. He had a conversation with Adams that day, who reported feeling good and comfortable, needing only a few training sessions and matches to reach the right condition for some playing time.
