The Cherries’ youth side will stage all their Premier League 2 home fixtures at Wimborne Town following the club’s elevation to Category One academy status during the summer.

This campaign marks their debut in the top-tier youth competition, with every home match scheduled for the Wyatt Homes Stadium and spectators admitted without charge.

Opponents such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton and Manchester United will make the trip to Wimborne this term as Alan Connell’s squad embarks on an unprecedented season.

According to the club, the arrangement will enable supporters from throughout the area to attend matches featuring some of the nation’s most promising young players competing in PL2.

They kick off their season against Chelsea on Friday, August 20 in Wimborne.

Sam Gisborne, the club’s academy head, expressed satisfaction at securing league fixtures at Wimborne Town, noting the clubs have maintained a close association over the years and that positive experiences at the venue as a Category 2 setup now lead to anticipation for welcoming all PL2 opponents going forward.

Wimborne’s general manager Jimmy Glass commented that hosting AFC Bournemouth’s development squad once more at the Wyatt Homes Stadium represents an exciting prospect for the club. The stadium offers excellent facilities while providing a chance to boost revenue, which is vital for clubs of their size, and they eagerly await visits from leading sides throughout the campaign.
