Bournemouth begin their home campaign at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Sunday when they face Cheltenham Town.
The Cherries kicked off their season with a narrow 1-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon, courtesy of a Jenna Markham goal shortly after the interval.
Their Sunday opponents suffered a 3-1 defeat to Real Bedford in their season opener, and Tom Davies’ squad will be seeking to bounce back this weekend.
However, Bournemouth dominated their upcoming rivals during the previous campaign, completing a league double with wins both on home soil and on the road.
They secured a 2-0 triumph at the Ringwood Community Hub through strikes from Gemma McGuinness and Georgia Wilson, followed by an emphatic 6-0 away victory.
Former Cheltenham player Clarabella Hall will face her old colleagues this weekend wearing Bournemouth colours as the club aims to make a winning start on home turf.
Cheltenham ended last season in eighth position in the National League Southern Premier Division, narrowly avoiding the drop zone by two points after a commanding win against bottom-placed Billericay Town on the final day guaranteed their safety.
Hall netted three goals in that match, and her former club will be hoping she cannot repeat that feat against them in Weymouth.
Helen Bleazard’s squad has no major fitness concerns, though Sophia Leonard sustained an injury during Sunday’s match at Wimbledon and had to be substituted.
Kyra Robertson, Tilly Wilkes, Tia Young and Emilia Newton were all absent from the matchday squad last weekend.
Manager Bleazard confirmed there is no timeline yet for Leonard’s return as they monitor her recovery with their medical staff.
She explained they are taking things gradually with her and working closely with the medical department on her rehabilitation.
Bournemouth welcome Cheltenham Town to the Bob Lucas Stadium in Weymouth on Sunday, August 23, with the match beginning at 2pm.
